Duvet and Duvet Cover Sizes in Canada: Check the Measurements
October 6, 2026If your duvet gathers at one end of its cover, start by checking two things: the measurements and the corner attachments. A cover that matches your duvet dimensions, combined with ties fastened through corner loops, can help keep the corners aligned.
Every Camelus duvet cover has ties inside each corner, and our camel wool duvets have a loop at each corner. Here is how to use them together.
What are duvet cover ties and duvet loops?
Corner ties are fabric ties sewn inside a duvet cover. Corner loops are small fabric loops attached to the duvet itself. Thread a cover tie through the corresponding duvet loop, then tie the ends together. This connects the two corners without pinning or piercing the fabric.
The attachments help reduce movement between the cover and the duvet. They do not make a poorly matched cover fit, so check the dimensions before you begin.
How to put on a duvet cover with corner ties
- Lay out your duvet. Spread it flat on the bed and find the loop at each corner.
- Turn the cover inside out. Lay it over the duvet so the matching corners line up. Keep the cover opening accessible.
- Fasten each corner. Thread a tie through the corresponding duvet loop and tie the ends into a bow that you can undo when laundering. Avoid pulling so tightly that the fabric puckers.
- Bring the cover over the duvet. Work the cover around the insert, keeping the attached corners aligned.
- Smooth and close. Spread the duvet evenly, check all four corners, and close the cover using its existing closure.
You may find it easier to work on a large bed or ask someone to help with a King size duvet. Avoid lifting the full weight of the duvet by a single tie or loop.
Why does my duvet still bunch up?
Check whether every tie is attached to its matching loop and whether any bow has come loose. Then compare the actual duvet and cover measurements. A cover with substantial extra space can allow more movement, even when its corners are tied.
Also check the orientation. If one dimension is longer than the other, rotating the insert can leave it folded or compressed inside. Smooth the duvet from the centre towards the edges after fitting the cover.
Choosing a matching Camelus duvet and cover
Our adult camel wool duvet and eucalyptus lyocell blend duvet cover sets have matching listed dimensions: Twin 66 × 86 inches, Full/Queen 90 × 90 inches and King 104 × 90 inches. Compare the measurements on the product pages rather than relying only on a size name.
The kids duvet measures 37 × 57 inches and needs a suitably sized cover; the adult cover sets listed above are not its size match.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to undo the ties before washing the cover?
Yes. Untie the corners and remove the duvet. Follow each item’s separate care instructions: Camelus camel wool duvets must not be machine washed or tumble dried.
Can I use a Camelus cover with another duvet?
Compare the dimensions and check whether the other duvet has compatible corner loops. The cover can still be used without fastening its ties, but the corner attachments will not secure it to an insert without loops.
